1958 Baldwin Orga-Sonic by JukinCat 1958 Baldwin Orga-Sonic by JukinCat
This organ has lots of 12AU7 tubes! We had to replace lots of bad capacitors to get it to work.

Hey, I have this same exact organ in my garage that my aunt let behind in her garage. As far as I can see, it is in great condition. I plug it in and seems to work...but I don't really know how an organ should sound. How much should I sell it for on craigslist. I have no use for it and it's taking up space!!!

I've always been curious about these Baldwin tube units. How do they sound to you?

This Baldwin really did have a good sound as I recall. It was a job we did for a client about 3 years ago....it does have a percussion effects generator which kind of gives a Hammond-like keyed percussion effect. Also the keys are touch sensitive with regards to volume. There are hundreds of paper caps in these generators which need replaced.
I actually own 2 AGO-standard Baldwin organ consoles and another Orgasonic spinet like this which I really need to get working. The large organs use 6SN7 tubes for oscillators and dividers and the smaller ones use 12AU7's...I think there is a total of 60 tubes in the generator not counting the amp or percussion unit.

Thank you Spats, I always thought so too! The one I actually own has a lot more plain limed oak cabinet.

The extended upper manual is awesome, but the restricted lower manual is not so awesome. LOL

I noticed that too! I was just looking at the Hammond M-2 here and trying to note the difference in the manual keys between it and the Orga-sonic.
